Rotational sideband generation of femtosecond laser pulses via delayed four-wave Raman mixing in hydrogen

چکیده
We present the efficient frequency conversion of sub-100-fs visible laser pulses by delayed four-wave Raman mixing. Control of intensity distribution and polarization of rotational Raman sidebands is demonstrated by changing the polarization of pump and probe laser pulses. The mechanism of the rotational Raman sideband generation is investigated. It can be explained by angular momentum conservation.

Distinct broadband third-harmonic generation on a thin amorphous medium-air interface.
We achieve a series of distinct broadband third-harmonic generation (THG) signals at the amorphous glass-air interface attributed to third-order and cascaded third-order nonlinear processes. A novel THG laser sideband arises from cascaded interaction between fundamental pulses and the cascaded four-wave mixing signals. The spatially separated THG sidebands with distinct spectral profiles manife...
متن کاملGeneration of μJ multicolor femtosecond laser pulses using cascaded four-wave mixing
Μulticolor femtosecond pulses were simultaneously obtained by a cascaded FWM process in fused silica glass. The sideband spectra were tunable by changing the crossing angle of the two input beams. Frequency up-shift and down-shift pulses with energies as high as 1 μJ, durations of 45 fs, nearly diffraction limited Gaussian spatial profiles, and power stability smaller than 2% RMS of the generat...

We demonstrate the simultaneous generation of multicolor femtosecond laser pulses spanning the wavelength range from UV to near IR in a 0.1 mm Type I beta-barium borate crystal from 800 nm fundamental and weak IR super-continuum white light (SCWL) pulses. The multicolor broadband laser pulses observed are attributed to two concomitant cascaded four-wave mixing (CFWM) processes as corroborated b...

Time-resolved pure-rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy using picosecond-duration laser pulses is investigated for gas thermometry. The use of picosecond laser pulses significantly reduces background caused by scattering of the probe beam, and delayed probing of the Raman coherence enables elimination of interference from nonresonant four-wave mixing processes. Temperatures inferr...

We demonstrate the versatile broadband wavelength tunability of frequency upconverted multicolor cascaded four-wave-mixing (CFWM) signals spanning the continuous wavelength range from UV to near IR in a thin type-I BBO crystal using 35 fs, 800 nm fundamental and chirped IR supercontinuum white light pulses. Two sets of spatially dispersed CFWM laser sidebands are concomitantly generated from tw...
